Rape the Sluts Bill is Back

It never stops.

The (Kentucky) Senate Judiciary Committee approved a bill Thursday that would require a woman seeking an abortion to review the results of an ultrasound with a doctor.

Senate Bill 38 now goes to the Senate for a vote, where it will likely pass. The measure, filed by Sen. Elizabeth Tori, R-Elizabethtown, has passed the full Senate for the past two years but died in the Democratic-controlled House.

The bill would penalize doctors who fail to give a woman an ultrasound before performing an abortion.

Foes of the measure say it adds a barrier for women seeking an abortion. Those who support the move say it gives women much-needed information before making a critical health decision.

I would call bullshit, if it weren't actually motherfucking lies.

This bill has nothing to do with "much needed information." This bill is all about forcing a camera up a woman's vagina against her will, then forcing her to watch the result over and over again until she screams in surrender and submits to life-threatening childbirth.

Last year, a courageous Representative Reginald Meeks stopped this abomination in its tracks. I wrote:

The General Assembly has a lot more on its plate this year. Make sure they know you don't want the Rape the Sluts bill to slip through.
