"Congress Must Extend the Middle-Class Tax Cuts"

No, Mr. President.  Because the flip side of "extend the middle-class tax cuts" is gutting Social Security, Medicare and and Medicaid in the name of "balance" and "shared sacrifice." The only "sacrifice" for the past four decades has been made by the working class, while the rich hoovered up the nation's wealth and sent it overseas.

What Congress - or rather you and congressional Democrats - must do is hike taxes on the rich without touching Social Security, Medicare or Medicaid.  The rich have stolen their wealth directly from the middle class and it's time to pay back forty years of theft in full.  That would be balanced.
