They Spoke to Him at Arlington, and He Listened
This one decision will put Barack Obama's presidency back on track to success.
President Barack Obama does not plan to accept any of the Afghanistan war options presented by his national security team, pushing instead for revisions to clarify how and when U.S. troops would turn over responsibility to the Afghan government, a senior administration official said Wednesday.
That stance comes in the midst of forceful reservations about a possible troop buildup from the U.S. ambassador in Afghanistan, Karl Eikenberry, according to a second top administration official.
In strongly worded classified cables to Washington, Eikenberry said he had misgivings about sending in new troops while there are still so many questions about the leadership of Afghan President Hamid Karzai.
Obama is still close to announcing his revamped war strategy - most likely shortly after he returns from a trip to Asia that ends on Nov. 19.
Of the nearly infinite positive consequences of ending the self-destructive escalation in Afghanistan, this will be the significant and long-lasting:
It will finally kill the Vietnam Syndrome that drives Democrats to support every ridiculous war that comes down the pike, just to prove they're not pussies.
By rejecting the warmongers, Obama has shown he understands that Real Men Know When To Withdraw.

Blue, this is the BEST POST I've read this morning! I agree with you. (I've followed your blog for a year, good job!) Just thought I'd say so...
Quit blaming VietNam. Different everything. Veterans are getting over it ... finally --- so should chicken hawks & chicken harts. We aren't wanted in S.W.Asia; we were wanted by the majority in the south of VietNam in S.E.Asia.
Let's get the fuck outta there --- now!
