"We do better when the middle class does better."

No, Mr. President: During the middle-class economy of 1935 to 1975, we all did better when we all did better, but that was because the rich paid their fair share so that the poor could reach the middle class.  Today, only the rich do well, and only taxing them out of existing and lifting the poor out of poverty will save the middle class.
