Corporations Have Rights; Women Don't

I said it back when Obama nominated her: Sonya Sotomayor is a corporatist who will always put businesses before people or government.

Talking Points Memo:

The Supreme Court has thrown a hitch into President Barack Obama's new health care law by blocking a requirement that some religion-affiliated organizations provide health insurance that includes birth control.

Justice Sonia Sotomayor late Tuesday night decided to block implementation of the contraceptive coverage requirement, only hours before the law's insurance coverage went into effect on New Year's Day.

Her decision, which came after federal court filings by Catholic-affiliated groups from around the nation in hopes of delaying the requirements, throws a part of the president's signature law into temporary disarray. At least one federal appeals court agreed with Sotomayor, issuing its own stay against part of the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare.
This isn't about birth control, and it sure as fuck isn't about religion. It's about corporations putting themselves above the law, and above the Constitution.

And "liberal" judges letting them.

Civil rights and civil libertties are all fine and good ... until they inconvenience a corporation in the slightest.

Then the court's liberal corporatists can't throw the people - and the government we elected - overboard fast enough.

If you want any rights or freedom at all in America today you better be a corporation.

Everybody else is fucked.

What we need on the Supreme Court is people who hate corporations and are determined to deny them any rights at all.

Because any nominee who gives rights to corporations is an existential threat to the nation, regardless of her views on anything else.
