Freakazoids Fuckup Fancy Farm
Yeah, yeah, technically it's a church picnic, but what's a revival without a few screaming rounds of "Hellfire and Damnation!"
In reality, of course, the wingnut freakazoids that own and run that flood-prone section of the state try every year to give the advantage to repug candidates by handicapping the dems: seating, speaking order, allowable demonstrations, supporter intimidation - whatever works.
This year they're trying to kneecap Jack Conway by treating Kentucky voters like fainting Victorian virgins.
From the Herald:
Candidates stumping at the next edition of the Fancy Farm Picnic will have a new rule to follow - no profanity.
Picnic Chairman Mark Wilson told The Paducah Sun that anyone using profanity - including four-letter words that sometimes pop up on television - could be asked to stop their presentation.
The rule comes one year after Attorney General and U.S. Senate Candidate Jack Conway used a profanity to describe his toughness. Conway later apologized for the remark.
The picnic, sponsored by St. Jerome Catholic Church, is Aug. 7 on the Fancy Farm Elementary School grounds.
Conway has been invited back to speak as the Democratic nominee for the U.S. Senate. He will face Republican Rand Paul in November. Other confirmed speakers include U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell and Lt. Gov. Dan Mongiardo.
The "profanity" Conway used, by the way, was "son of a bitch," a phrase I will bet my house that picnic chairman Mark Wilson has used more than once in public.
And because he apologized, Conway is actually not a "tough son of a bitch," but a spineless worm.
If Jack Conway concludes his 2010 Fancy Farm speech with: "I'd just like to close by saying this to Mitch McConnell and all the other repug buddies of Rand Paul preventing Democrats from rescuing the economy: Fuck You." - I swear, I will write his campaign a check for $2,000 that day and never say another discouraging word about him until after the election.
