Songs to Fight the Plutocracy By: "Pie in the Sky"

195 songs later, we're back where we started. We've landed a few blows, but the plutocracy is still standing, still corrupting democracy. So we fight on. Originally titled "Long-Haired Preachers," this is Joe Hill's most famous song. Like many of his songs, it uses the tune of a Salvation Army hymn.

Yes, Joe Hill coined the phrase "pie in the sky." The next time you hear somebody say it, sing this song to them. Or at least the chorus:

You will eat, bye and bye,
In that glorious land above the sky;
Work and pray, live on hay,
You'll get pie in the sky when you die
