State Legislative Badass Nina Turner

Alison Lundergan Grimes could learn How to Talk About Republicans from Ohio State Senator Nina Turner.

She was on Chris Hayes' show Friday just ripping the shit right of the talibangelicals in Ohio. (Starting at about 4:00.)

Now she's backing those words up with action. Steve M.:
I like this, but it could be nastier:
COLUMBUS [OHIO] -- Before getting a prescription for Viagra or other erectile dysfunction drugs, men would have to see a sex therapist, receive a cardiac stress test and get a notarized affidavit signed by a sexual partner affirming impotency, if state Sen. Nina Turner has her way.

The Cleveland Democrat introduced Senate Bill 307 this week.

... Turner said if state policymakers want to legislate women's health choices through measures such as House Bill 125, known as the "Heartbeat bill," they should also be able to legislate men’s reproductive health.

...The Heartbeat bill would prohibit abortion once a heartbeat is detected, as early as six weeks into a pregnancy.

... Under Senate Bill 307, men taking the drugs would continue to be tested for heart problems, receive counseling about possible side effects and receive information about "pursuing celibacy as a viable lifestyle choice." ...
I love the snark -- but let's take this a step further. How many men using erectile-dysfunction drugs actually die in the saddle? How many do so leaving children fatherless? Let's make that what we talk about whenever we talk about these drugs! Let's publicize every such death as an ED horror story! And if it happens rarely, well, let's just make up some statistics that "prove" it happens a lot! That's what right-wingers would do, isn't it?

And shouldn't we require documented proof that any man seeking a prescription for erectile drugs will use them only in a marital sexual relationship, and only -- as Rick Santorum would no doubt insist -- in the pursuit of future offspring (which, after all, is the only legitimate reason to have sex)? Shouldn't we deny erectile drugs to anyone who's had a vasectomy or whose wife is past childbearing age? (We don't care about your little girlfriend on the side, you male tramp.)

Come on, folks, let's do this right.
According to commenters at Wonkette, that there is an actual medical test performed on actual male penises that sounds even more invasive, humiliating and painful than the object rape of a transvaginal ultrasound.

Cystoscopy, that's the ticket.
