Ky SOS Wants to Know If You Want Early Voting - Tell Her Yes

Kentucky's voting hours are among the most restrictive in the nation: 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Election Day. No mail-on ballots, no early voting, no absentee voting unless you can prove you will be out of state or on your death bed the entire 12 hours.

But now Secretary of State Allison Lundergan Grimes is considering asking the legislature to loosen those anti-democratic rules.

Roger Alford at AP:

Grimes has scheduled town hall meetings across the state to explore whether Kentucky should join more than 30 other states that have less stringent rules for early voting "as a way to increase voter participation."

She urged rank-and-file voters, elected officials, political activists and election officials to attend the meetings, which began Tuesday evening in Morgan County.

Other meetings are set for Kenton County on May 22, Jefferson County on May 29, McCracken County on June 3 and Madison County on June 20.

"It's intended to make sure that the very people these laws affect have a voice at the table," Grimes said.
Grimes said she's prepared to make legislative or regulatory recommendations based on her findings.
Unfortunately, Grimes appears to be keeping the locations and times of the meetings a secret - there is nothing about them on the SoS websites.  But here is how you can write or call Grimes and tell her that Kentucky needs at least two weeks of early voting, including evenings and weekends:
