Living Without Religion

Much as I would love to claim that in a world without religion, the attack on the Towers 10 years ago would not have happened, I can't, because it's not true.

Al Qaeda attacked the U.S. for political reasons. Religion was their excuse for violence, not their cause. Power is the goal, violence is the means, religion is the lie. It has always been thus.

But it doesn't always have to be.
