Insult to Injury

The day after the state announced that Kentucky's unemployment rate in December hit the highest level in 20 (twenty) years, the same department announced that 19 county unemployment offices - including Louisville - are unable to process claims because of power failures.

That's terrible! Time to bring out the candles and do it by hand, as our ancestors would have done. Good luck, Yellow Dog---sounds like a really miserable situation there! Time for "the great provider" Mitch McConnell (or maybe even Jim Bunning) to do something big for the home state!

In the past 48 hours, I've received phone calls from friends in New Jersey, South Carolina, Florida and Louisiana, asking me how things are here, since national news says we're on our last legs.

I wonder how many people will lose their benefit checks - at least one of them - because of these power failures.

All they have to live on, not available because of an ice storm. Makes me mist up a little. Fortunately, Pres. Obama is going to fix it. Eventually.

I still love typing the words, "President Obama."

Kentucky sucks. And don't tell me to love it or leave it. If I could afford to leave it, y'all'd be eatin' my dust by now.
