Obamacare Mandate Penalty is for Rich Assholes, Not You

No, you won't have to pay the mandate penalty.

You only have to pay the mandate penalty IF you don't have insurance AND you earn too much money to qualify for subsidies. In other words, if you can afford health insurance, but refuse to buy it because you're a rich asshole, THEN you have to pay the penalty.

 

You're not a rich asshole, so if you don't have insurance it's because you can't afford it, right? Right. So you will NOT have to pay a penalty under the Affordable Care Act mandate.

 

Stop telling pollsters that  you will.
